The Aegean’s “Living Stones” Come to Light!

Official Premiere of “Living Stones”!

A special evening for Oceanus-Lab, marking the official premiere of the scientific documentary “Living Stones”, directed by Stathis Galazoulas.

The documentary was brought to life through the collaboration of the Athanasios C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation and the Athina I. Martinou Foundation, as part of Initiative ’21. It brings to the screen Oceanus-Lab’s research expeditions in the Cyclades, dedicated to discovering, mapping, and highlighting a unique yet little-known marine ecosystem: the formations of calcareous red algae, our very own “living stones” of the Aegean Sea.

Through stunning underwater footage and moments captured during field research, we aim to reveal a hidden world beneath the waters of the Aegean and highlight its immense ecological value.
